Is the literal Quranic text sufficient?

Question

Some people claim that the Holy Quran is the only correct book that we need to follow and that the hadith should be ignored. They also claim that it is only the Quran that has been made easy for everyone who wants to learn. How do we respond to that?

Answer

May God welcome you, my beloved.

The Quran was transmitted in the same way that the religious accounts have been transmitted in the books of hadith, so why would some hadith be refused and others accepted?

And which Quranic interpretation (tafsir) would be a sufficient one for the Quran; and what evidence is there for its authenticity over others?  Moreover, the plain Quranic text, that which is limited to a narrow, literal, simple meaning, cannot keep up with the state that humanity has reached in terms of its evolution in all fields, whether scientific, societal, political or economical.
