In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Intensely Merciful
May the prayers and peace of Allah be upon Muhammad and his progeny, the Imams and the Mahdis.
May the peace, mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you
To Imam Ahmed Al-Hasan pbuh, may Allah empower him in the earth and hasten the relief of Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad(saw)
I hope this is the right section that I have posted in. This is in regards to something I collect as a hobby.
I am a collector of action figures (toys) – which remind me of heroes and cartoons I used to watch as a kid. I do not display them for public purposes and collect them through other collectors and trade with others from time to time.
I display them in my house within a glass cupboard. They are not statues and neither do they propagate any culture to my knowledge.
I dare not even think to keep them as idols for worship or things like that but for mere playing purposes just as one would collect movies or books.
I wanted to know if this is permissible or absolutely forbidden keeping in mind the times we are living in.
Awaiting your answer.
This is a reply of the Imam pbuh to one of the questions that holds the answer to yours
A) It is permissible to buy, sell, having and making toys and statues that are in the form of animals, but it is detested. It is so if it doesn’t hold anything impermissible such as showing the private parts or elicit (sexual) desire or if they are taken for worship and to prostrate to it without Allah or to prostrate to it as Kiblah.
